Were we treated so badly in a foreign land, only because we are Indian Citizen????
I'm proud my home country, the great India or Hindustan or what ever, boasts in every other aspects...
Let it be Wealth, Education, Econonmy, Production, Population, Corrupution and list goes upto the heaven as well as hell for it's own good deals and bad deals....
But I felt shame when I went to renew myself I'm a Indian Citizen. Yes, just my Indian Passport Renewal experience is shared here....

Passport Submission
On a pleasant winter morning, by 6:30am itself, I went to renew my Indian passport with High Commission of India at Aldwych (As I was advised by my friend, there would be a lengthy queue if I step there late). After reaching there about 7:00am, to warm myself I thought of having a Costa with croissant in the opposite cafe. I could notice the queue length getting stronger, so I rushed once I'm done with the energizer.
There is no exception in the queue... Children, Kids, Elderly people, and youth folks like me ;) lol
For the doors that open at 9am, there is a big queue of 100 plus people in the winter weather without no exception of individuals age..... There is no waiting hall, there is no roof/barrier to hide yourself when the nature pity on you with showers and breeze... Though there was a extensible roof in front of the building, it's set out only after 9am (what is the use, after someone's health is detoriated for 2 hours or more???? itz hopelesss)
Finally I reached the token counter at 9:20 am and stepped in with a huge happiness.... I could hear from everyother side, this people would never develop.... such a shame "getting blasted by your own people at your own door step"
Before I reach the counter I could see pan spitted everywhere around, cigaratte buds like a smoke point, and belive me... somebody shitted on the corner... Our nation can't acheive everything in western world due to population, but why such a environment even in London?
When my token number flashed on the monitor, I rushed from the last row (Which was warm 'coz of the close by heating system).. The lady in the counter has no patience to look around, skipped to next token number (by then I was there...) She asked "Token Number '32???'" as if I did a big blunder....
The website says "all pages other than blank pages to be submitted" So I was prepared in that fashion, but she requested.. no no ordered as "First, last, visa and address page only"..
which lead confusion at the counter for me.... Somehow managed to pull out and passed those pages..
After 2 hours of waiting in the shivering weather, with frustations at the counter and a small walk.. I reached Covent Garden to relax my mind fom stress and frustation...
This is not the end.... it continues...
Passport Collection
Another pleasant morning, with with snow patch everywhere, like a heavenly spot... I made my way from Bristol to London for Passport collection. Keeping in mind, I should be atleast 2 hours before else I have to wait a long while or asked to come again....
Same like other day, today also, its a freezing day... But still made to wait outside fr a long time in the freeing weather.... I consoled myself on seeing the kids and elderly people waiting along with me...
Finally at 3:30pm, we all were allowed inside without any toke/system.. I wondered how they are going to issue the Passport to individuals..... As I wondered, they opened a counter and a staff inside said aloud collectionssss...... As soon as she said, they complete group of people for passport collections rushed to the counter... there was no queue no syste... I remembered the ration and train crowds in back home.... The lady at he counter collected all our receipts and went for collection...
I'm Luckkkkky.... I was served first, as my issue date was a week earlier and I can't make it due to snow.......
It a wonderful, sick experienc :( by my own country embassy in UK.... Which could not forget whenever I turn the passport pages.....
So my best advise is cloth appropriate to the weather or even more comfortable appropriate than the weather... Else your health would get spoiled for sure...
Our country boasts in production, software, management, largest constitution..... But we can't make a proper systematic procedure for our own mission abroad... GREAT SHAME!!!! AND NO LAME EXCUSES FOR IT... When you don't know how to respect your own Citizens, you can't develop in the world arena...
I have missed to explain many more experience at the same spot.... better not to bug myself for their stupidity....
Jai Hind....
